The 130 disappeared

On the morning of 27 December 2014, over 200 men and boys were rounded up by soldiers from their villages in the Far North of Cameroon, beaten and loaded onto trucks. More than 130 of them haven’t been seen since.

Artist and photographer Vincent Tremeau made papier mache masks of the faces of the missing, worn by their relatives in this stunning gallery.

Protect Our Rights is Amnesty International’s campaign defending the human rights of those caught on the one hand between atrocities committed by Boko Haram, and on the other between human rights violations by the authorities in their fight against them.
